Bellus Angelfish - Genicanthus bellus
Picture taken January 2008, Nikon D70 Digital SLR, Nikkor 18-70mm DX lens, Flash

Purchased September 2007 at MACNA XIX.

This is my third Angelfish from this genus.

I'm surprised how hard it is to take a picture of this fish. It pulls itself forward in many rapid jerks using is pectoral fins. It really doesn't use its tail much. This leads to a stop/go swimming motion.

This fish is a mid-water planktivore which I have not observed picking on any corals. Based on the picture it looks like it can use a bit more feeding.

Bellus Angelfish 2 months later still doing very well.

While this picture looks like its eating a coral, it is not. I've never seen a coral react negative to it.

I must admit I'm not sure exactly what it is looking for.
