Montipora sp. Unidentifed Scroll Coral
Picture was taken in October 2001 with a Nikon CoolPix 950 Digital Camera, No Flash Obtained July 23rd, 2001 from Rich Knecht (aka RichK) This is a very nice bright montipora coral that grows in a scroll or plate morph. It has a bright yellow base with brilliant green polyps. Does not seem to be as fast a grower as other montipora corals I own. This picture was taken 3 months after it was added to the tank. The coral is located in the back of the tank and not easy to get a picture of. It has encrusted to the rocks and shown some new growth. I'll have to watch this one closely as a mushroom are growing rampant below it. |
Montipora sp. Unidentifed Scroll Coral
Picture was taken in March 2002 with a Nikon CoolPix 950 Digital Camera, No Flash This coral has shown excellent growth in the past 5 months since the last picture was taken. It's also interesting to note the color change. The base color has gotten darker and the polyp color has changed to a color I've never seen before in a coral. The draw back of this coral is that it packs one heck of a punch. As you can see it has no problem growing over any coral it comes in contact with. |
