Red Algae

This is a sample of algae that I have growing in one of my overflow chambers. I’m not sure what it is. It has a firm sponge like feed to it and grows fairly rapid.

It has only been detected in one overflow chamber. No sign of it in the other overflow chamber, display tank or sump.

The brown articulated algae is fairly firm to the touch and seem to be water filled or filled with some other fluid.
