The Peppermint Shrimp (Lysmata wurdemanni) was originally added to the display tank to take care of some Aiptasia Anemones after the Copperbanded Butterfly fish died.

Peppermint Shrimp tend to be clear or opaque with reddish colored stripes. Many novice confuse this Caribbean shrimp with the Camelback Shrimp (Rhynchocienetes uritai) which does not eat Aiptasia anemones.

Peppermint shrimp will accept just about any food item and scavenge around the tank for food. They are typically nocturnal and hidden during the day.
