Orange Sponge

This orange sponge was added to the tank March 12th, 1999. It has since had little growth and areas where my hand touched it have died back a little. It is also possible that this sponge does not like direct lighting.
I’ve had problems with this sponge falling over. It doesn’t seem to be grabbing onto the live rock. I used a small plastic toothpick super glued to a rock and then stuck the toothpick into the sponge. I hope this solved that problem.
This sponge seemed to show no growth during the months I’ve had it. The tank was feed regularly with phytoplankton of various sizes. A few people suggested feeding the tank some beta-meal which I never was able to try.
Over a few weeks course this sponge started to turn white. About 70% of it had turned white and it was getting overgrown by algae. I decided to remove it from the system. It was removed on October 16th, 1999.
