Purple Encrusting Montipora sp.
My apologies for the horrible picture which is not typical of the images I post on this web site. This coral is at a very step angle to the glass which distorts the image. This image is the best I have been able to get over the past few months. This coral has been in the display since the summer months which is about 6 months. It has doubled in size in that time yet it is still tiny in size. It is a brilliant pink/purple color with the daylight halides on yet with just actinics on it glows a brilliant blue which is an odd florescent color.
