Coralline Algae - Articulated Coralline Cluster

The red calcareous algae (Rhodophyta) such as this branching or articulated growth form is much less common than the Crustose species which commonly encrust the rocks in our reef tanks.

All the different kinds of crustose algae cover more surface area than any alga species in the world.
