Three Tridacna crocea Clams
Picture taken June 2006, Nikon D70 Digital SLR, Nikkor 18-70mm DX lens.

Purchased June 13th, 2006.

These are three Tridacna crocea clams which were added to the display at the same time. They are on the substrate acclimating to the light.

This picture shows them a few hours after being added to the display.

This picture is from above, through 2 feet of water. The clams are between 3.5 and 4.5 inches in size.

The center clam of the three pictured above from the front eight months later. It still has the incredible colors but these can only be seen from the top not the front.

The same clam as above over a year later.

The Blue Mandarin is inspecting it closely for something to much on.

The left most clam of the three pictured at the top of the page nine months later.

I had to delay adding this image to the web site to allow it to be published as the May 2007 cover shot of ReefKeeeping.com on-line magazine.
