Green and Blue Tip Acropora (Acropora sp.), just added to display tank.

This is a unidentified species of acropora. This is a frag of an amazing coral colony at the LFS's "not for sale" display tank.

The parent colony is a deep green with blue growing tips. They claim it is a rapid grower.

This is a frag I've been trying to get for many years and now I finally have it with a tank questionable if its mature enough to survive in.

Green and Blue Tip Acropora (Acropora sp.), turned totally blue.

This picture shows this acropora 3 months later. It is always nice when a green coral turns blue.

Blue acropora tend to be highly prized and the lighter and brighter the blue the better.

As can be seen compared to the picture above a new base has been secreted totally covering the epoxy it was mounted with. This image was taken with my Acrylic Camera Box from the water surface.

Six months later the blue color has increased considerably.

Still not much significant growth other than the base has encrusted a little more.

Eight months later and this coral finally shows some minor growth. Several new branches can be seen.

Interesting to see how the color keeps changing.

Green and Blue Tip Acropora (Acropora sp.), 5 months later.

Five month later and this coral has shown some significant growth. The purple acropora next to it had to be trimmed back to prevent this nice blue green acropora from being shaded.

Overall this is still a pretty small acropora for something with 2 years of growth.
