Seriatopora sp.
Picture was taken in February 2000 with a Nikon CoolPix 950 Digital Camera, No Flash

Purchased January 16, 2000.

This is a beautiful frag of a type of Pink Birds Nest Coral, it appear to be a thicker type of growth than the Pink Birds Nest - Seriatopora hystrix. You can clearly see that it has almost a dozen new growth tips starting. This frag is less than 1.5 inches tall and about 2 inches wide.

This coral has shown some good growth during the past 6 months. It's now a little less than 3 inches tall and a little less than 5 inches wide.

September 2000 - After several months of great growth with this coral, I suddenly found it quickly releasing chunks of flesh with bare skeleton left showing. I had to remove the colony from the tank.

This another colony of Pink Birds Nest that was given to me by a fellow hobbiest who took down their tank. I had the coral for several months. Never really found a location for it and stuck it in this location. I'll have to move it again as the Green Montipora Scroll Coral below will kill this species with ease.
