Caribsea A.R.M. Reactor Media

This product has proven to be excellent in the Calcium Reactor Media market. The best thing going for it, I would say, is that it requires less CO2 to dissolve the media. Not that CO2 is expensive, but having to fill up your canister less often and having a higher tank pH (less CO2) are very good side effects.

Normally calcium reactors required an effluent pH around 6.5 to dissolve media and even lower for high demands. A.R.M. claims to dissolve at pH 7.0. However I keep my calcium reactor around 6.8 to 6.9 when using A.R.M.

Some claims from the manufacture include:

• Highest solubility of any reactor media.

• Highest surface area of any reactor media.

• Low CO2 consumption, set reactor to 7.0.

• Processed for Immediate use, no rinse required.

Caribsea A.R.M. Reactor Media 50lb Bag

I've grown to like A.R.M. media enough that it is the only reactor media I use. I now buy it in bulk such as this 50 pound bag.
